This Week's Focus: Tefillah, Connection with Hashem, and the Tefillah Drum Circle
This past week, we focused on Tefillah (prayer) and how it helps us connect with Hashem, just like talking to our loved ones brings us closer. We also had a lot of fun with a special Tefillah Drum Circle to make learning about prayer even more joyful!
Key Highlights:
Connecting with Loved Ones: We started by modeling a phone call with a family member to show how we share, ask, and thank the people we love. This helps us feel close to them.
Tefillah – Talking to Hashem: Just like we talk to our family and friends, we can talk to Hashem anytime, using our own words or prayers from the Siddur. Tefillah is a mitzvah that strengthens our connection with Hashem.
Aleph Chapter: We continued learning the Aleph chapter, reinforcing how the Hebrew letters and prayers guide us to connect with Hashem.
Tefillah Drum Circle: We brought joy and energy to Hebrew school with a Tefillah Drum Circle. Students learned rhythms and beats on buckets, adding fun to their prayers. The drum circle video encouraged kavanah (intention) in davening, while teaching the kids to feel the rhythm and energy in their connection with Hashem.
Drumming Instructions: Students learned to drum with mallets on the buckets, hitting the center for high tones and the edge for low tones.
Tefillah Song: The video introduced a song reminding us that Hashem wants us to talk to Him, share our feelings, and connect every day.
This week’s lesson emphasized how prayer is not only about words but also about creating a joyful, heartfelt connection with Hashem, just like the conversations we have with those we love!

Super Jew, Super You: Lesson 3 – Torah
This week, children delved into the Torah as Hashem's ultimate guide, discovering its stories and mitzvot that brighten the world. They enjoyed a puppet show, sorted stories vs. mitzvot, and created personal Torah scroll crafts. The lesson wrapped up with mitzvah-themed games and chants of “We are Super Jews, let’s brighten the world!”
Aleph Champ Update: The students showed fantastic progress, with many advancing levels while strengthening their Hebrew reading skills.
Gallery: Include photos of the games, crafts, and Aleph Champ achievements.

This week, our JUDAH Hebrew School students explored their inner superpower—the neshama!
After a warm welcome and the Super Jew Start (capes, map stickers, and theme song), students followed a paper trail to discover a “superpower diamond,” symbolizing the neshama. Using a doll and diamond prop, we discussed how the neshama connects each Jew to Hashem.
Hands-on activities reinforced the lesson: students made diamond necklaces, observed a science demo with Alka Seltzer (showing how the neshama energizes us), and played a balloon game to see their neshama “glow” within.
In Aleph Champ, everyone made progress in Hebrew reading. The kids left inspired, understanding that their neshama empowers them to do mitzvot and spread goodness!

This week in "Hashem & Me," children explored the concept of Hashem as our Creator, King, and caring Father. The lesson began with a "Super Jew" theme, where children donned capes and sang the theme song to set an inspiring tone.
Through hands-on activities like the "Creation Hunt" and a "Draw & Reveal" activity, they learned about Hashem’s power to create the world from nothing. An interactive discussion and pictionary game highlighted how Hashem lovingly provides for us in everyday ways.
Each child took home a keepsake frame that reads, “Hashem created the world for me. Hashem loves me,” reminding them of His constant presence and care.
